While playing the role of Gabrielle, in Xena: Warrior Princess from 1996-2001, Renee observed six years of guest director’s approach to capturing the narrative, with special attention on highlighting action and special effects. Their television series filmed on Kodak’s 35 mm film cameras (“where every frame counts”) furthering her knowledge of the importance of the use of light, rehearsals, and staging.

Renee has continued her directing career by directing short films, pilot presentations, a comedic web series, film labs for a Los Angeles based film festival, scene study classes, ENCORE’s Disney classic, Beauty and the Beast , House of Bards Theatre Company’s The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet, 1984, and A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
